Textile Roofs 2025 – A Prestigious Gathering of the Membrane Architecture Community in Berlin

The 27th edition of the Textile Roofs workshops was held in Berlin, Germany, bringing together a truly international community of architects, engineers, scientists, industry professionals, and students from across the membrane architecture sector. This esteemed event served as a vital platform for addressing real-world challenges and exploring future developments in architectural membrane structures, reinforcing its status as one of the most prestigious gatherings of its kind.

At the heart of the event were forward-looking presentations and interactive workshops, which facilitated knowledge sharing on innovative solutions, technical complexities, and sustainable practices within the field.

A standout feature of the workshop was the collaborative construction of a striking, real-world structure on the iconic Aedes Campus. This hands-on experience was made possible thanks to cutting-edge materials, machinery, and support provided by partner companies. The programme was further enriched by a cultural visit to the architectural painting museum, a scenic boat tour along Berlin’s Spree river, a relaxed barbecue in the Aedes garden, and inspiring conversations over dinner.

The Architectural Membrane Association (AMA) extends its heartfelt thanks to all participants, partners, and contributors who helped make this year’s Textile Roofs workshop such a resounding success. Your engagement and shared vision continue to shape the future of textile architecture.
